Prolly a microsoft fag like purecraft. Oh, you kids who don't know anything.

I would say go for the 4S if you can afford it, Alby. I've got the HTC Desire. I love it to death, but if I could afford a 4S right now, I would pick one up.

I'm kinda tired of lack of stability and compatibility with android lately. My father's Galaxy Nexus even as some unforseen issues that are beginning to piss me off.

Might as well get a phone that was made by the same company who made the OS for it, right?
I have an iPhone and love it. I have had very few issues with it. My parents and some of my friends Who have droids all hate their phones and have issues with them all the time. The freedom that the the droids offer is nice like the freedom a PC offers over a Mac, but tbh the tech in phones isn't quite as stable to do much with. I, like Krell, recommend the iPhone if you can afford it.
I had a droid. Batter life sucked balls. Not using net or anything, just texting, it lasted ~6 hours.... So it died at school.

iPhone 4s is only $159 CAD on a 3yr contract
The next question - Get it now, or wait until the 5 comes out... eventually....

You use Linux primarily, why would you want a fisher price phone? Anyone suggesting a 4S in 2012 is off their rocker.

HA.
Go for the Galaxy S2.
I have nothing against the iPhone. The problem i have with it is the people that are constantly like 'OMFG GET THE IPHONE COS ITS THE BEST PHONE EVARRR!!!1111!!'.

Yes, the iPhone is good, but it's not the best.

I liked the Galaxy S2 but didn't get it for one reason, its too thin (i have a history of breaking phones) so i went with the HTC Sensation. Its bulkier than the S2 but other than that I couldn't find many major differences.

Just texting, my phone lasts 2 solid days before giving me the 9% battery warning, which is pretty damn accurate time-wise so I just stop using it entirely.

So yeah, Galaxy S2 or HTC Sensation are my suggestions.
My telephone provider dosn't have either of those phones availible.

So its either pay <$500 USD and get it off eBay, and then pay Month-to-Month for a plan.
Or buy a nice, subsidised phone with a contract.
Galaxy Nexus / Galaxy Note
>.> That one costs even more lol
To the people suggesting Galaxy S 2: Enjoy your shitty batter lives.

Galaxy Nexus is seriously great—I adore it—but it still has its problems that I am soooo fucking picky about (as aformentioned with my father's). e.g. Battery Life while data is off and GUI (I prefer HTC Sense guis to most others), but those are arbitrary.

A buddy of mine is still using the iPhone 4, jailbroken, but he uses it as his computer, so to speak. He kinda got rid of most of the technology in his life, sticking with only his phone, home server, and an Apple TV. He's continuously torrenting movies and shows from some—and I use the term lightly—"high profile" website I still don't remember the name of (requires a certain ration of seed:download or some shit like that). Just watches TV off of his phone, transmitting it to his Apple TV. It's actually a really cool set-up.

I still say go with the iPhone 4S for the stability.
SC or sceneaccess perhaps?

The one kicker is that I can get an unlimited plan with the iPhone, and create one of those my-wifi thingys.
Thereby letting me use my unlimited data with my laptop when I am at the lake, where Dial-up is the best I can get.

That, and I'm kinda stuck with what MTS has (http://www.mts.ca/mts/personal/wireless/)
Or I can buy out the remaining 6 months of my contract for $121 CAD
