Go the extra mile and get a 560ti
You can tell whether the CPU is compatible with your MOBO by the type of 'socket' it has. AMD processors commonly use the "AM3+" socket, while intel uses all different sorts, just be sure to read what kind of socket it is. Find the CPU socket before you go looking for a MOBO. Try to get a MOBO w/ at least 4 RAM slots with 4GB max in each slot. But it would be better to go with a 4x8. Check ram compatibility with the speed of it and the max speed that the MOBO specs say. Add me on Steam if you want any further tips or explanations: "DC_Darkstorm" is my steam name. Nvidia wise, either go with a 560 or a 560 ti(the ti means it's overclocked already so the warranty is still in place so that if you screw up overclocking you don't get screwed over.) But if you think you can OC it yourself, just get the 560. If you have enough cash, buy a GTX 580 -- totally worth it. And if you're just a fucking rich bastard, wait and save up for the new GTX 6XX series, it should be quite good as it is going to be their new flagship card. HDD wise shoot for a 7200RPM or a 10000RPM if you're not going to also buy a SDD(which if you do get, aim for 120GB at least or higher). Seagate makes great HDD's by the way. Case wise, go for a full tower with built in fans, it's always nice to have plenty of room to expand. As PC said, the PSU should be at least 850W if this build is super awesome. Again, contact me through PM or on steam if you need any other advice/help.

But yeah, mostly good, 580s are old news now though.

AMD graphic cards aren't really all that bad. For the $150 I paid for one, it does fine. Sure it won't satisfy the masterrace PC perfectionists(cough Pure cough Orc) but for someone on a budget, its good.

For what its worth, the only game I see a minor fps drop in whilst running max settings is battlefield, and thats only when im looking at 50 vehicles exploding.
