i5-2500k is a waste since it looks like you aren't planning on any overclocking.
Setting yourself up with outdated tech when ivybridge is being released literally this month.

It wasn't worth waiting for Bulldozer but I'd still pick one over a Phenom. That is ofcourse assuming Intel don't jew their pricing up.
