Now, i recently started thinking about Operating Systems.

I wanted to see all of your guys opinions on Mac Vs Windows (Most likely windows).

Not just stating which side you are on, but also your good standpoints as well as your pros and cons.

What i have summed up, is that people like different OSs for different reasons. People with Macs like being spoonfed--- i mean enjoy automated things coming straight at them, and Windows people like to learn how stuff works to unlock potential within their computer. It basically depends on your character. Say you're a in the market without a fucking right mind-- er, a unknowing of computers mind and looking for something that gets the job done. i would think you'd get a mac. If you are looking in the market to become a professional at a certain thing that is easier not on mac, get a windows.

WHAT ARE YOUR OPINIONS? (because im sure you all have GREAT ones.)
Buy Alienware instead.
Personally, i'm neutral, i'm familiar with and use both OS's very actively.
OSX if you have downs, Linux if you don't, Windows if you play games.

This.
Like you said Proj, I think macs are for dumbasses and old people who don't understand what a computer is. Linux is a very good OS for people who know what they want from their computer and know what the fuck they are doing. Windows vista is the shittiest OS in the history of mankind but if you just want to play TF2 or whatever it works alright. The only decent Windows OS was XP, but now it's becoming outdated and incompatible with many new games.

My advice to the average dumbass:

Go outside.

>I'm an uneducated idiot.

Windows 7 destroys Windows XP for even two of the most minor reasons, let alone everything else: More RAM and actual support.

Dude, just go with what ever. In this day and age you can do a lot with both, only in different worlds.

Adobe products run 10 times smoother on Mac OS X regardless of the specs on any Windows computer. I have had tons of experience at school with beefy Windows-running computers running Adobe Photoshop CS5 and CS6 (BETA) as well as on Mac OS X-running computers.

However, I can play any game I want much more easily on a Windows as opposed to a Mac. It's all up to preference. What do you prefer to do? Produce music? Graphics Design? Gaming?

IMO—and it doesn't matter on the distribution—Linux should only be used for 2 things: Server/database management, or people who ONLY browse forums. And the latter is still pushing it.

So, let's sum this up.

Mac OS X: Adobe products, music production, graphics design, LIGHT and limited gaming.
Linux: Server management, car control (depending on your car), forum browsing (still pushing it. Why have a computer simply for forum browsing?)
Windows: Universal (jack of all trades, but master of none), heavy gaming, car control (depending on your car)

That's about all each OS can offer you based on your age (and for one, ever).
