Ok so Here I will be posting the backstories of each race and I will do my best to make sure that they make sense and they all seamlessly blend to each other.

I have four stories to post; one of each race and they will explain the motives of each race and why they are at war with each other.

So here we go :p

Elven backstory

Code:
Following the dissolution of the elven conclave after many months of political instability; The elves of Meridia were plunged into a brutal civil war with one side wanting to rebuild the conclave and the other looking to form an entirely new leadership.

During the civil war a Warrior named Parius refused to carry out an execution order on a village of innocents. Hearing of this his superiors ordered his capture and execution for the following morning. During the night the elven men and women under his command set to rescue him from the prison along with around 100 civilians fleeing their captors and escaping to the southern coasts.

They travelled for several days they came to rest at a shrine to their ancestral goddess Azura. Following prayers for guidance on what to do, Azura finally responded with a message to Parius.

'Cross the southern seas to there you will find the salvation of all elvenkind'

Following her guidance he rallied his troops and the villagers to the southern coasts, where they boarded longboats and set sail for this mysterious land. After many months of sailing they found the new continent where the jungle lands proved to be the place of salvation they looked for.

After settling on the coast of the new land, scouts were sent to map out the local jungle, Initially the first thing the elves found were the orc race. After returning with this news they decided to send out to make diplomatic ties since they couldn't afford to have a fight on there hands with their numbers so low and still weekend from the long journey.

The orcs met with the elves and judged them to be weaklings and lesser of themselves so instead of diplomacy they attacked the elves thinking them to be superior and their motives amplified by their own arrogance. After this the orcs sought to locate the remainder of these elves that had shown themselves. They located the encampment of elves and set about killing the last of them.

The orcs got the upper hand in a surprise attack and nearly killed the last of the elves, but the elves managed to hold out long enough for to turn the tide of battle and they hunted down killing the orc bandits and from this the elves set about making their mark with no mercy to be shown and in a few short weeks several orc settlements were destroyed.

The elves, tired from their drawn out campaign, sent out another offer of diplomacy to the orcs which they couldn't refuse. Whilst peace had been declared and the elves had found a new home in the jungles, there was still bitterness between the two races. Knowing they were a problem for another day.

A few months after; the humans arrived on the continent and after watching the humans the elves decided they just wouldn't be ready if another enemy came to fruition so they sent a request for peace from the humans knowing that they were a strong enemy and one not to be rushed into to fight unnecessarily.

The humans obliged and they accepted the peace offering and thus all seemed to be calm for a while. 17 months later the elves learned of the high king visiting. A strengthened elven force suggested to try diplomatic ties even further with the human high king but a very small minority rejected the idea saying they were the same as the orcs and they should be killed off as such.

A plan to assassinate the king was drawn up but after discussion between the conspirators the plan was cancelled. Yet one still wanted to do it...

The day of the kings speech he was assassinated by a elven assassin who some people had said he had heard voices telling him to do it and kill the king. The elves tried to explain the killer was mad but the humans were outraged and so war naturally came.

The orcs saw the opportunity to strike revenge under the banner of the humans and initially joined them in battling the elves. With the combined strength of the Humans, Orcs and dwarves under the same fragile banner, the elves were doomed to fall and become extinct.

Yet if they could fragment the alliance between the races they could stand a  slim chance of survival. So from the best minds of the elves a plan was formulated. The alliance between the orcs and the humans would be hardest to fragment but the domination of the dwarves by the orc was the weak point that they desired.

So the elves sent out secret messengers to the dwarven racial home and the dwarves agreed to help them in exchange for freeing them of their orc overlords, and so they supplied the dwarves with the weapons and training they needed to start a rebellion against the orc. And so with the backing of the elves; the dwarves were able to finally break hold of the control that the orcs had over them for many years.

After the dwarves broke free they were set to help the elves in battle yet the day before they rode to battle, a elven royal was killed inside the grounds of the dwarves home. Despite claims to the contrary by the dwarves that they did not kill the royal, the elven population were enraged by this act of atrocity by the race they were supposed to be helping. And so finally the elves were turned and they stood alone against 3 powerful races which one of them they brought upon themselves...

With three enemies dedicated to eliminating  the elven race and rebuilding after coming close to the brink of demise multiple times; The elves prove to be the ultimate survivors and they can be aggressive when they need to be.

I will hopefully be able to post one store each night this week if I can so yeah go enjoy and read Tongue

"By Azura, by Azura, by Azura! It's the Grand Champion! I can't believe it's you! Standing here! Next to me!"

"Golly, you're the best! I'm going to follow you and watch you and worship the ground you walk on! Let's go!"

"Yes, oh great and mighty Grand Champion? Is there something you need? Can I carry your weapon? Shine your boots? Backrub, perhaps?"

"Here? Right here? What about, say... over there? No? Right here? All right then, you're the Grand Champion! Whatever you say!"

Am I the only one that felt bad for that guy? He's just trying to be nice and everyone ends up killing him.
I never got round to doing the arena quest lines, Now I am glad I did not do it, yet I would prefer people give constructive criticism on this and from the lack of replies I can see nobody really cares much :/

Well I am hoping to turn some viewpoints on it's head about what we think to each race whilst everything is not exactly black and white but there will be a lot of grey in the general mix as well in terms of how the races are shown to be.
