Well, the account that I use, "redstone_fanatic" was gifted by a friend, under the name he chose. He made a new account, and, as i didn't own minecraft, and loved redstone contraptions, he gave it to me. But, I can't seem to change the avatar, plus I'd rather have a name that pertains to my overall internet personna, "cadaver", so I was just wondering how complex it would be to switch to a new account. Would I have to extract everything from my chests and make a small moving process, or can protections be somehow transfered?

Just wondering, as I might buy minecraft under a different name and avatar skin soon.

Easiest way would probably be to use /lwc mode persist and /cpassword xxxx all of your locked items so you'll be able to open them on any account provided you remember the password, or you could also try /cmodify @playername to add access for a specific player instead.
