Money Help - frostythetoejam - 03-08-2012

So, Im looking to save up for a good gaming desktop because, quite frankly, I hate my Mac... The only problem is, I don't have any money as of right now.

I was wondering if anybody has any good ways of racking in the dough. I need REALISTIC ways of getting money. I have a few game systems/phones/ipods that I can sell on ebay, but I predict that that will not be enough. I will also be taking a baby sitting class this weekend (yes, sad, I know) because I hear you can get some good money from babysitting. Any ideas? (anything I can do on the internet?)

Everyone eventually does.

Well since your only 15 your choices are limited. Alot of retail jobs such as ones in a mall require you to be at least 16 however some places like shoe stores will hire you at 15 1/2 if you have a worker's permit.

I would recommend trying to do things for your parents, you wouldn't have to drive anywhere, and quite frankly there are things that they would rather not do. When asking them if there's anything you can do for money, set the amount low, and they'll consider it more so than if you offer to wash the car for $20. You could always do manual labor in your neighborhood, and babysitting could be good if you're able to get a consistant job/timeframe so you can better budget things. Since you're 15, I'd say don't go for the local grocery store job, it's minimum wage, and overall torture. So, you're best bet is doing chores around the house, manual labor around the neighborhood, and babysitting. It might take a while to get around $1-1.5K, but it will both show your parents that you're responsible and self sufficent, and it will show that you have motive to do things for yourself.

my sister makes lods of emone babysitting, like 40$ a night. For a 15 year old, that's not bad.

I have thought about that, but I am not extremely advanced with the whole server thing, so I would have to take a while to figure all of it out. And quite frankly, Im not sure that I could handle running a server with school work and such.

So, my dad is a wholesaler in the car business and he is constantly searching for cars that he can buy and then sell them for more money at the auction. I asked him if i could help him out with anything for a bit of money and he told me that every car I find for him that he ends up buying, I get $200! So that is just one more thing I can add to my list of ways to get some good moneyBig Grin
