Making a PC...I hope. - the_octopus - 04-04-2012 So, after realising that my laptop sucks, i've decided to go ahead and attempt to build a computer. Decided to ask you guys what you recommend for the following parts, as i'm unsure ; Motherboard Processor (CPU) No hatin' on the noob! Thanks -octo EDIT : Parts need to be REASONABLY priced (Motherboard £110- and Processor £185-) RE: Making a PC...I hope. - PureCraft - 04-04-2012 www.scan.co.uk Thank me later. You need: GPU (Gfx card) if nvidia a cooler that prevents fires a Mainboard which isn't old as shit. keep in mind that it needs fitting slots/sockel for your GPU and CPU a PSU (Powersupply, about 850W, depends on your gfx card needs) a CPU including a decent cooler Atleast one harddrive, if you have too much dosh, spend some of it on a SSD for your OS A case, HAL makes good low budget cases and time to put all that shit together. Should cost you about 800-1000£ depending on how good you want it to be. What was that tinyurl link to the guide again sieve? Also, if you buy the wrong motherboard, your pc might look like this:

RE: Making a PC...I hope. - the_octopus - 04-04-2012 RE: Making a PC...I hope. - sieve - 04-04-2012 tinyurl.com/falconguide Be sure to buy an AMD card if you hate games being well optimized RE: Making a PC...I hope. - the_octopus - 04-04-2012 Do you recommend building them to exactly what it says or alter a bit? I'm thinking the first one under the 'great' section RE: Making a PC...I hope. - PureCraft - 04-04-2012 >AMD Nope nope nope go intel if you want to play current games smooth. You can alter it all you want, after all its your PC. Just be sure to buy the right motherboard for your CPU etc. RE: Making a PC...I hope. - the_octopus - 04-04-2012 How do i know which is the 'right' motherboard? RE: Making a PC...I hope. - sieve - 04-04-2012 It's good to experiment, but make sure that everything is compatible. RE: Making a PC...I hope. - PureCraft - 04-04-2012 Tell me what CPU/GPU you want and I tell you what MB is compatible. RE: Making a PC...I hope. - the_octopus - 04-04-2012 EDIT : I HAVE NO IDEA. You tell me ploz Aiming for : £200 GPU and £125 CPU..You're the expert RE: Making a PC...I hope. - PureCraft - 04-04-2012 The 560 uses the PCI E, so it fits on every past 2009 mobo. RE: Making a PC...I hope. - the_octopus - 04-04-2012 The 560 uses the PCI E i dun geddit. i get 2nd bit though RE: Making a PC...I hope. - sieve - 04-04-2012 On your budget, I'd say go for a gtx 560 and an i3, or an i5 if you willing to shell out the dosh |
