New computer... - Killerdonkey - 06-18-2012

Well, My current laptop quite frankly is a piece of junk. I actually have to elevate it of a table to that it doesn't overheat... Not only that but anyone that has ever communicated with me over skype will know of the ear-shattering fan. Not only this but I have been playing minecraft, a game which you would not expect to need a half decent graphics card to run, on tiny render distance setting with optifine.

Recently I have been looking into a new, cheap, laptop or desktop that can handle what I plan to use it for. This was the first time I actually wanted to chose my own computer. The last time I got a computer I thought that they where all the same so I just told my parents to get me a computer I didn't care what type, I wish I didn't say that now Tongue

Anyway I did find one, And I'm not sure whether to call it a laptop or computer but it's sort of like a cross in between. Please don't troll me if it is bad Tongue

I found a "LENOVO IdeaCentre C325 20" All-in-One PC"

Code:
rocessor    AMD E 350 (1.6GHz, 1MB Cache)
Operating System    Windows 7 Service Park 1 64-Bit

Optical disk drive    ODD_Tray_in_Rambo
CD: 24x / DVD: 8x
CDR: 24x / CDRW: 24x / DVD+/-R: 8x / DVD+/-RW: 8x
Memory card reader    Yes
USB    6 x 2.0
Modem/Ethernet    1000 Gigabit Ethernet
WiFi    802.11b/g/n
Sound    Onboard
2.0
3W x 2
Webcam    0.3
Keyboard & Mouse    Yes - Both USB
Accessories included    Keyboard/Mouse/Power cord/User guide/Driver disk
Software included    Microsoft® Office 2010
Size    590 x 310 x 525 mm
Weight    7.27 kg (net)
10.48 kg (gross)

Please tell me if it is good or not. I'm no good at this yet.

It comes to an overall cost of £429.99

If this is quite bad or if you know of anything better, Laptop or desktop, please post them here. Also I would love it if any of you could find something better below £450

I know there is not much out there of that price but I have no moneyz Tongue

Give me any prebuilt, I get you a build for cheaper.
>inb4 building a pc is hard
My 12 years old cousin built his own pc god damn it.

Other than self-built PC's (Which are still better), Lenovo isn't all that bad. My brother had the Thinkpad, and from what I can tell, it didn't have any bad lag, he used that for everything. Their company is pretty good, they bought the Thinkpad from IBM and didn't turn it into shit, but overall, their PC's are pretty average.

I would still just make one.

Thinkpads are good for everything except for gaming.

Lol, good point. He mostly just plays strategy games on there.

Anyone ever play the Civilization games?

Coincidentally, I found this odd story.

Holy shit we are off topic.

RE: New computer... - mspeers - 06-18-2012

So basically we all agree pre-built is a bad idea?
