I am not asking you to bash my mom's computer I just want to know if anything like that I might have to deal with for a Mac, and how to fix it.

Any mods installed at the same time? It's very possible you've done that.

Do you mean "Without any glitches at all" or "Just a few minor glitches"?

Something may also be wrong with either your .minecraft folder or you .jar. And as krellyn said, even the slightest modification to your .minecraft can screw evertything up. Have you had any mods installed in the past? and by mod we mean anything that you stuck in your .minecraft that wasnt part of the original download.
