Purchasing A Camera - Need Suggestions! - Thatguheye - 07-24-2012

I'm looking to buy a new camera, essentially a good HD, digital SLR for around $300-$600 or even possibly $700 if it comes to be.

Though it's not necessarily the camera i count on spending the most on, but more of the lenses.

The body i've been looking at would be the Canon EOS Rebel T3I: --->Link To The Body Here<---
Because i was told by a good friend who's quite into photography that Canon tend to be better when it comes it video, which is mostly what i'd be using it for.

Though photography is still a large part of the equation, which is why i'm looking at telephoto lenses such as --->this.<----

If you guys would have any suggestions that differ from mine, especially on a lens that'd work better for video than the stock, then i'd really appreciate if you post it!

The 55-250 IS canon lens works great for starting out, it gets close and focuses pretty quickly. (good value for it's money). For the body, the T3i is probally as good as it gets for that price, (they did just release the T4i...850 $ and I don't know how it was improved).
