I'm just gonna follow thoe 2 by giving you a tip on the 2 I based my characters on. Both are Nord btw.
Archery

Stealth is key for being an archer due to a realy useful perk that multiplys you're bows damage by 3. And once at 100 sneak you can be hidden even when directly infront of the character which helps if you are in a small room filled with hostiles. Although choose which arrows you use wisely because you will end up losing your arrows quite rapidly, so I suggest using aron arrows for weaker monsters and once they're out move onto you're next set. Some helpful perks from the archery skill tree are ones that allow you too zoom in and slow down time when zoomed in. I also suggest keeping a decent bladed or blunt weapon on your character at all times, just incase you get into a situation were a bow just wont cut it.

One-handed and all-round mage.

I tend to use my Daedric sword with a pretty little enchantment that does some hefty fire damage to the target (having an enchantment on you're weapon will help you out immensly). Then there comes the point of the other hand, it all comes down to preferance here, I tend to use either a healing spell or conjuration spell as my secondary. This means I can stay in the fight longer or call in some back-up if I'm highly out numbered. But a shield does work aswell. Having a high sneak for this can help out alot aswell because there's a perk that allows you to stop combat for a short time, giving you the chance to quickly ready yourself up for a quick stab-n-dash, or if you are getting pounded it's helpful to crouch then as the attackers turn you can use that to throw a conjured ally and run to safety.

Note:
I have both these in an allround character, so I carry a set of light armor (nightin gale) and a set of heavy armor (daedric). Along with some scrolls, potions (not food as it weighs you down too much) and a few full soul gems just incase I use up my enchantments.
